How To Use Pinterest To Promote Your Business

When it comes to marketing on Pinterest, many businesses don’t have a clue how to use this platform to market their business, products and services.  Here’s  a few quick tips that can get you started on using Pinterest to promote your business.

  1. Cover images. Make sure you have good quality cover images for all your boards with the board title on the image.
  2. Pins. You can pin images, gifs and videos. Pin and repin regularly (I recommend doing this once or twice per day depending on your audience).
  3. Board titles. Be really specific what your boards are about. Recipes for weightloss would work better than a board simply entitled “recipes”
  4. Categories. Make sure all your board and pin categories are correct so they can be found easily when users are searching.
  5. Hashtags. Users can search by hashtag so make sure you add a few useful hashtags. I recommend 2-3 per pin don’t go over the top with them.
  6. Analytics. You can make use of the free analytics dashboard once you have verified your website. You will need to insert some coding on your website for this.
  7. Collaborate. Invite users to collaborate on your boards. I’m a regular contributer to a digital marketing community which has boosted my website traffic from Pinterest
  8. Pin it button. Make sure you have this installed on all your product pages on your website.
  9. Pin your blogs. Make sure you have a board to pin your blog posts to.Trust me this will help boost your website traffic enormously.
  10. Pin titles. Pins that have blog post titles on them are more likely to be shared. Create a featured image for your blog posts with the title on it using a tool like PicMonkey or Canva.
  11. Infographics. Infographics have proven to be the most repinned content. You might want to take a look at Piktochart to make creating them a lot easier.
  12. Engagement. Social after all you know”social”.  Make sure you respond to comments and questions on your pins. You can @ to tag usernames in comments.
  13. Think outside the box. Because Pinterest is about being creative, think outside of the box. Try showing your products in new and inventive ways. Tutorials work well.
  14. Finally. My top tool for Pinterest is Tailwind. Go check it out!
