How to track keywords on Social Media

Topsy

Searches phrases on Twitter. Here I have searched for tweets containing “I need to lose weight” in the last 24 hours. You can do this by hour as well. As you can see this phrase has been tweeted 473 times in the last 24 hours. You could then reach out to them on Twitter and offer a free report or ebook with an upsell to your online training program. The only down side to Topsy is there isn’t an option to search geographically.

This one has the ability to do a keyword search and add a geographic location

Hashtagify

Monitor hashtags and receive email alerts when they are mentioned ie #fitspiration #fitfam

You can also monitor what your competitors are posting if they are social media savvy.

Sproutsocial Paid tool with a 30 day free trial
